Some worthwhile reading from the Times

Today Michael Barbaro reports on Wal Mart's PR staff feeding bloggers positive quotes.

On Sunday, there were also two Times pieces on collaboration in the arts. First in a thorough review on art collectives and how they are redefining the financial model for galleries, collectors and the artists. The story includes good coverage of online arts collaboration including the continuosly evolving Bernadette Corporation.

Next, an interesting art project by the husband and wife team that goes by the combined name of ChanSchatz, where they engaged soldiers in Irag in choosing visual objects to represent a combined image of the experience of war.

"Using an interactive Web page featuring 12 phrases, 28 color combinations and 32 motifs by the artists that they refer to as characters, participants selected elements they liked. To represent each individual, ChanSchatz used that person's chosen motif and colors; the selected phrase of text governed how each element acted within the work."
